Viewing Your Document in Netscape Before You Submit It

Before you submit, please view your pages in Netscape.
- Unclosed tags, missing quotation marks and forgotten line and paragraph breaks happen to everyone and can cause havoc with your Web page.
- It is unprofessional and can be quite embarrassing to discover mistakes once you’re already on-line.
To view your document in Netscape without having it “on-line”
- For Unix: From the command line, type in “netscape”.
- For Windows: Click on the “Netscape” icon.
- From the File Menu at the top of the screen, click on “File”
- Click on “Open File in Browser”
- You may now click on the file you wish to open or type in the name, complete with the directory.
Making changes in your document if you find mistakes
- Edit the text file as desired, as save the file.
- To view changes, you must press the “reload” button in Netscape.
Common errors to watch out for:
- Missing quotation marks: <IMG SRC=”mypic.gif > and <A HREF= http://www.emtek.com”>
- Missing closing tags: <FONT SIZE=5><B>your interesting text here.</FONT> (the </B> is missing)
